Recentemente ho visto Dreamgirls. Musical black ambientato alla fine degli anni ‘60 inizio ‘70.
A parte uno stravolgente Eddie Murphy con doti canore notevoli, ho scoperto, e credo non solo io, una cantante fenomenale, Jennifer Hudson.
Ci tenevo a metterlo sul blog e ne consiglio la visione.
La canzone che ho inserito è un piccolo assaggio della sua potenza vocale.
Inutile dire la profonda emozione che mi suscita.
Il testo è quasi basic ma l’intensità di espressione è unica.

Il film è un remake di un MUSICAL andato in scena a Broadway per 4 anni consecutivi. E’ incentrato - principalmente - sulla storia di DIANA ROSS e THE SUPREMES.
Il brano sopra è forse l’ossatura di tutto il film/musical. A me piace molto anche “Patience” sull’integrazione razziale che fa da sfondo alla storia.
